About MusiQuizr
MusiQuizr is the ultimate music quiz platform where your ears are the only tool you need. Listen to clips from across every genre and decade, then guess the artist, song title, and release year.
How It Works

Game Rules
Categories
Every player starts with the "Mixed" category. Expand your collection by purchasing additional genre categories from the Store. Once purchased, a category is unlocked permanently.
Game Sessions
Each game session draws 100 randomly selected songs from your chosen categories. Songs are distributed evenly across all selected categories and shuffled together, so you never know what is coming next. No song will appear twice in the same session.
Selecting Categories
Choose anywhere from one to all of your owned categories. When you select multiple categories, songs are drawn equally from each and mixed together for a balanced experience across genres.
Mixed Category
The "Mixed" category is a curated playlist with 250 hand-picked tracks spanning multiple genres and decades. It cannot be combined with other categories. You either play Mixed on its own, or select from your other owned categories.
Game Modes
Choose between single player and multiplayer, then pick a mode that fits your style.
Single Player
Classic Mode
The core experience. Listen to clips that start short and get longer. Guess the artist, song title, and optionally the release year. Faster answers and fewer attempts earn more points.
Blitz Mode
A 60-second sprint. Answer as many songs as possible before time runs out. Fast-paced and perfect for quick sessions.
Precision Mode
Hardcore mode for experts. You get one chance per song with only a short clip. Your answer must be exactly right. Designed for skilled players and leaderboard competition.
Year Challenge
Guess the release year of each song. The closer your guess, the more points you earn. Simple to understand, hard to master.
Multiplayer
Battle Mode
Compete 1v1 or in a lobby. All players hear the same song at the same time. First correct answer scores. Streak bonuses reward consistency, and a live leaderboard keeps the pressure on.
Knockout Mode
Tournament-style elimination. Get a wrong answer and you are out. Last player standing wins. Great for friend groups and streams.
Party Mode
Casual group play. Take turns answering or vote on answers together. Low pressure, high fun. Perfect for gatherings.
Quick Start Presets
Jump straight into a game with a preset, or create a fully custom game with your own settings.
Quick Play
Random genre, 10-second clips, 5 rounds. The fastest way in.
Hardcore
3-second clips and exact answers required. No power-ups allowed.
Party
30-second clips with multiple attempts. Relaxed scoring for a fun group experience.
Custom Game
Full control over every setting. Choose your categories, clip length, mode, and more.
Scoring
Each game mode has its own scoring system. Points are earned per track and accumulated across the entire session.
Classic Mode
You get up to 3 attempts per song. Earlier correct answers earn more points.

Blitz Mode
Speed is everything. One attempt per song, no year input. Answer as many as you can in 60 seconds.

Max per track: 6 points + streak bonus. Both artist and title must be correct to maintain the streak.
Year Challenge
Only the release year matters. Points are based on how close your guess is.

Music Notes (Power-ups)
Music Notes are in-game power-ups you can purchase from the Store. Use them strategically during a session:
- SkipSkip the current song and get a new one
- ExtendPlay a longer snippet of the current song
- RevealShow the first letter of the answer
- EliminateRemove incorrect options
You can use a maximum of 1-2 Notes per round. Using a Note reduces your bonus points, so use them wisely.
Multiplayer
Invite friends by email or username, or share a unique invite link. All players in a session hear the same clip at the same time. A live leaderboard is visible throughout the match, and the host controls the game settings and start.
After Each Answer
After every guess you will see the correct answer, the release year, and a link to the song on Spotify. You will also get feedback like "So close!", "Right artist, wrong song", or "Perfect!" to keep you motivated and learning.
Progression
Track your consecutive days played with the streak system. Earn experience points to level up and unlock milestones. Compete on the global leaderboard or see how you rank among friends. A daily challenge features the same tracks for all players so you can compare your score worldwide.
